Burley
Gate Pre-school opened in 1975. It has been situated at the village
hall next to Burley Gate School for many years but now we have a
wonderful new 'Log Cabin' thanks mainly to the Big Lottery Fund,
parents, various grants, the local community and businessess. We are situated in the grounds of Burley Gate Primary School with fantastic facilities both inside and out. The children have many opportunities to interact with reception class at the primary school ensuring a smooth transition into school. We are registered with Ofsted and at our last inspection we were awarded a grade 2 which is defined as being 'excellent'. We are also part of a Quality Assurance Scheme 'Growing Together' and hold a Bronze Award. Our staff are all trained or undergoing training in childcare, first aid and health and safety. We are a community based registered charity offering a high standard of education to children aged from 2 to 5 years within a happy, friendly and caring environment. The pre-school operates under a management committee of parents who are responsible for the policies, finance and staffing. This same group organise fund raising events to help support and enhance our aims. At Burley Gate Pre-School your children can enjoy a wide range of activities that are tailored to the foundation stage and stepping stones guidelines approved by Ofsted. Our extensive range of indoor equipment is complemented by our fully enclosed secure garden and play area. We also have the use of the schools playing field, outdoor classroom and nature reserve. At Burley Gate Pre-School the children are closely supervised and we actively promote positive behavior and encourage each child to develop confidence, self esteem and to become an independent learner. Parents are the main educators for their children, this is why we establish early relationships with parents. We are a very friendly, welcoming, informative and available group who believe the home and pre-school relationship should be a two way process, with opportunities for knowledge, expertise and information flowing freely both ways. |
